Sura 1 The Opener (Al-Fatiha)

[1:1] In the name of God, the Almighty, the Merciful.

[1:2] Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds.

[1:3] The Almighty, the Merciful.

[1:4] Possessor of the Day of the Religion.

[1:5] You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help.

[1:6] Guide us to the straight path;

[1:7] the path of those whom You have blessed, not those who have incurred wrath, nor the misguided.

Footnote 1:4 - One of the Quranic names used in the Quran for the Day of Judgment is'Yawm Al-Deen' (the Day of the Religion). The religion, as authorised by God, is our means to attain salvation. This makes the 'The Day of the Religion' an accurate name. The culmination of our religion is on that Day.
